Forty-Two Percent

Forty-two percent is currently the estimated number of American's that own a Passport.
That's less than half.

Meaning over half the population of America has never been outside of the country.

Read that twice.

In a world in which viewpoints create animosity, and opinions sometimes become fact, it's important to understand that leaving the country changes your perspective.

But if you never go...how do you know anything different?
You need to see other countries.

They're different.

They're suppose to be.

We teach how to travel because as teachers, we want those around us to continue to learn and grow.  Every experience is a chance to learn more about who you are as well as how you view the world around you.

Which, in today's world, is extremely important.

We want this for you.  We want this for our students.  We want this for your students.

On your to do list...

If you do not have a passport, it's time to get one.  Prioritize, skip a few coffees, save up and get the document that allows you to leave and return to your country.  If you don't know how to get one:  CLICK HERE.  (Recommended: a Passport Holder - Passports are documents that can be scanned without you realizing it).

Once you get your Passport, get Global Entry.  We vowed after our last trip we would NEVER wait for customs if we could help it. Not only was it time saving at the airport, it was incredibly simple.  Click the button to see how:

Teachers - Teach students about Passports

We are charged with teaching our students to understand the world around them.  If they never learn HOW to see the world, we've missed our mark as educators.  The number of passports will become less, meaning our perspective of the world will become smaller and smaller.

The Reading Passport

Teachers, we invite you to pause on reading logs during some portion of your year.

We're asking you to consider "Reading Passports."
We've created a Reading Passport to connect two ideas:

Books will take you away from where you are, Passports take you away to where you want to go.
Click FOr the Reading Passport
The Reading Passport has been used in DC's room.  Only one of his students had one or understood what passports in general were used for. (Click the button for more information and the editable document.  We will be updating this year before March with new pictures and places, so you can use it multiple times.)
We are going to come back to this theme a few times.

You get one life.  There is only one world.

Getting your passport is priority number one for traveling across the globe.

Once you do, in the words of Dr. Suess...
