Visit Nite Lites at The Michigan International Speedway

It's the most wonderful time of the year!  As the weather changes and we slowly make our way to the holiday break, we took a moment to pause and spend some time under the lights.  

With a little bit of nostalgia, we were trying to find something that gave us the ability to slow down the pace and take in the season.  With a little bit of searching, we found the Michigan International Speedway was going to provide exactly what we were looking for!

Located in Brookyln, Michigan, the Speedway is a popular summer destination.  While there have been days spent in jean shorts and t-shirts there, we showed up dressed in very different attire.  We booked the "train" ticket, which is the daily tram dressed as a train.  This put us directly outdoors on the track, on one of the coldest nights that week.   It was spectacular.

The lights are arranged in themes, with each section giving a little more joy.  We especially loved Pit Row and the Nativity scene.  Tunnels of lights provide transitions between sections, as you make your way around the course.  Everything you could hope for, from Santa to dancers is present.  There's something for everyone.

Pricing varies, and you do have the option to stay in your car, in the heat, to see the lights as well.  We had very fond  memories of a pizza farm providing us a similar aesthetic experience.  We left with just a little more Christmas in our souls.  (And we had a mission to find hot chocolate.)
